HOW TO APPLY KERATIN HAIR EXTENSIONS
The most popular and traditional hair extension system is keratin bonding, a system that only a professional hairdresser can apply to your natural hair. But what are the basic steps to get a perfect, voluminous, colorful and extra long head of hair?
Hair consultation: find the ideal strands for the customer
The first step to satisfying a customer is to listen to their wishes: Does she want longer hair? Does she need more volume? Does she dream of a rainbow color gradient? Once you know clearly what she wants, you should pay attention to her natural hair to decide which application system is most suitable to improve her hair, in this case we are talking about keratin hair extensions, available in Indian or Russian human hair 100% Remy.
How to prepare natural hair for hair extension application
A perfect application of any type of hair extension always starts with a good preparation of the natural hair with products specially developed for this purpose to ensure an amazing result, but above all to maintain the health of the natural hair.
Before applying keratin hair extensions, prepare the client's hair by removing excess sebum from the scalp to keep the hair clean for a long time. A shampoo such as the SEISETA Clarifying Daily Shampoo also helps to open the hair cuticles to ensure optimal penetration of the keratin, and to make the hair less greasy. After a deep shampoo, rinse thoroughly and avoid using conditioner or other types of masks or oil products. Blow-dry the hair and do not use a straightener or curling iron, because these close the hair cuticles again!
STEP 1 - Hair Distribution
It is extremely important for a professional result to correctly divide the natural hair as in the following steps:
- Divide the hair into a T-section from the forehead to the center of the head, and then divide the hair on the sides, from ear to ear.
- Draw a horizontal line on the neck, leaving 2 or 3 cm from the hairline.
- Use a pointed comb to select the same amount of hair as the extension to be placed.
- Select a strand of the client's hair, making sure to give it a rectangular shape, as accurately as possible to avoid pulling.
- Use the protective plate (such as SEISETA DC01) to insulate the strand.
- Place the strand in the plate and secure it with a metal clip.
STEP 2 - Application of Keratin Strands - Assembly Process
- Remove the strand from the packaging and cut it at the top to divide the extension strands.
- Place the extension on top of the client's natural strand.
- Now use the SEISETA HOT FUSION EVO (2002HFE) heat connector set to 175 °C (347 °F). Press until the keratin is melted.
- Make sure the keratin completely melts and bonds with the client's hair to ensure optimal adhesion.
- Fold the tip of the keratin bonds inwards.
- Press with your fingers. Now use an applicator (such as SEISETA PM01) and press the keratin to obtain a flat and thin strand.
- Continue in the same manner until the section is completed.
STEP 3 - The perfect haircut for a natural look
Once you have added a strand, it's time to continue with the haircut. It is recommended to use a hairdressing knife instead of scissors to create the most natural end result.
